We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly skilled Backend Developer to join our fast-paced and innovative digital marketing agency. As a key member of our dev team, you will work closely with our developer team to design, develop, and maintain backend systems that power the sites and applications of our clients. The ideal candidate has an understanding of backend development concepts, including RESTful APIs, database design, and server-side programming using relevant programming languages and frameworks. We are looking for someone who enjoys collaborating with a team of frontend and backend developers, wants to get their hands dirty in some code, and design cool ground-breaking sites. What You'll Do Collaborate closely with the Director of Technology and Backend Lead to address technical challenges across diverse projects, spanning analysis, timeline management, execution, and deployment of various technologies. Implement efficient data storage solutions and optimize database performance. Write clean, modular, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards. Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, consistency, and adherence to coding standards. Troubleshoot and debug issues, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to ensure smooth operation of backend systems. Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends, and propose innovative solutions to improve system architecture and performance. Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate frontend components with backend services. Contribute to the design and architecture of new features and enhancements. Who You Are At least two years of experience in backend development or a similar role and/or a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Proficient in diverse programming languages, including PHP and JavaScript, along with prominent JavaScript frameworks like React.js , Vue, and Astro. Strong understanding of backend development concepts, including RESTful APIs, database design, and server-side programming. Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB). Basic understanding of web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Solid problem-solving skills and ability to debug and troubleshoot complex issues. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to writing clean, efficient code. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and quickly learn new technologies and tools.
