Fashion Accessories & Packaging Designer Fashion Accessories | Licensed Brands | Surface Design | Packaging AFH Industries is looking for a highly creative, fashion-driven designer to develop product concepts, prints, patterns, graphics and retail packaging for our portfolio of fashion and lifestyle brands. This is not a traditional apparel fashion-design position . We are looking for a designer with an exceptional eye for fashion, color, print, pattern and detail who can translate a brand's DNA into exciting consumer products and packaging. The ideal candidate can take a brand direction or seasonal theme and build a complete, cohesive collection—from the product itself to the prints, colors, embellishments, charms, graphics and packaging that bring it to life. What You'll Do Develop fashion-forward concepts for tech accessories, phone accessories, small leather goods, jewelry-inspired accessories, charging products and other lifestyle products Create original prints, repeat patterns, florals, novelty graphics and seasonal artwork Develop color palettes, materials, finishes, embellishments, charms and decorative details Translate established fashion and licensed brands into new product categories while maintaining each brand's unique identity Design graphics and artwork directly onto products and product components Create compelling retail packaging that coordinates with the product and tells a complete brand story Develop multiple coordinated SKUs and collections around seasonal concepts and trends Create presentation boards and product concepts for internal review, licensors and retail buyers Work closely with product development and overseas factories to move concepts from initial design through production Revise artwork, colors, patterns and packaging based on internal, retailer and licensor feedback What We're Looking For Exceptional fashion sense and strong understanding of current trends, color, print and pattern Strong portfolio showing fashion-forward product design, surface design, prints/patterns and packaging Ability to create feminine, playful, elevated, colorful and trend-driven design when appropriate to the brand Strong understanding of how prints, colors, materials, hardware and embellishments work together as a collection Ability to translate one creative concept across multiple products and packaging formats Strong Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop skills Excellent eye for typography, composition, color and retail presentation Ability to work across multiple brands with distinctly different visual identities Comfortable working in a fast-paced product-development environment Great Backgrounds for This Role We are open to designers from a variety of industries. We are more interested in exceptional fashion taste, creativity, pattern/graphic ability and a portfolio demonstrating the ability to create commercially exciting products.
