Role Description The Payroll Administrator is a full-time remote role responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for employees across the organization. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and reviewing payroll data, validating time and attendance information, and maintaining employee records in payroll systems. The role involves calculating and reconciling deductions, such as garnishments, benefits, and taxes, while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The Payroll Administrator will respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and managers, investigate and resolve discrepancies, and support audits and reporting requests. This position collaborates closely with HR, Finance, and Benefits teams to support efficient payroll operations and a positive employee experience. Qualifications Strong payroll administration skills, including experience with payroll systems and multi-state payroll processing. Knowledge of garnishments and related legal requirements, with the ability to accurately calculate and manage court-ordered deductions. Understanding of payroll taxes and regulatory compliance, including federal, state, and local tax rules and reporting. Familiarity with employee benefits as they relate to payroll, including deductions for health, retirement, and other benefit programs. Foundational accounting skills, including reconciliations, journal entries, and basic financial reporting related to payroll. Attention to detail, strong numerical aptitude, and the ability to work with confidential information responsibly. Proficiency with spreadsheets and payroll/HRIS software; experience with large or distributed workforces is beneficial. Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain payroll concepts clearly to employees at all levels. Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage deadlines, and prioritize multiple tasks. Associate or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field, or equivalent experience in payroll administration.
