Senior Azure Data Engineer – Self-Service Data Location: Remote Language: Fluent English Seniority: Senior Type: Long-term project About the Role We are looking for a Senior Azure Data Engineer with strong hands-on experience designing, developing, and optimizing modern data solutions on Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will have solid experience with self-service data platforms and analytics , enabling business and technical users to access, transform, and consume trusted data independently. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data architectures using Microsoft Azure . Build and optimize ETL/ELT processes for large and complex datasets. Develop data solutions using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Synapse Analytics and related Azure services. Implement and support self-service data and analytics solutions , enabling users to discover, access, and consume data efficiently. Develop and maintain data models, data transformations, and data integration processes. Ensure data quality, reliability, security, and performance across data platforms. Collaborate with Data Analysts, Data Scientists, BI teams, and business stakeholders. Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines and production processes. Contribute to data governance, documentation, and best practices. Participate in architecture and technical design decisions. Required Skills & Experience 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering . Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure data services . Advanced experience with Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks . Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics and/or modern cloud data platforms. Strong SQL skills. Experience with Python and data engineering frameworks. Solid understanding of ETL/ELT, data warehousing, data modeling, and data pipelines . Proven experience implementing or supporting self-service data / analytics environments . Experience with Power BI and/or other BI tools is a plus. Understanding of Azure DevOps, CI/CD, Git , and automated deployment processes. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Fluent English is required. Nice to Have Experience with Microsoft Fabric . Experience with Power BI self-service analytics . Knowledge of Azure Data Lake / ADLS Gen2 . Experience with data governance, security, and access management. Experience working in Agile environments.
