The Opportunity Hioki is looking for an experienced Product Manager to lead the GENNECT series of software and apps . You’ll help define not only the future of the GENNECT ecosystem, but how software becomes a core part of Hioki’s customer value proposition. Hioki has built its reputation through trusted electrical measurement instruments. Our next stage of growth is about creating more value beyond the instrument by connecting instruments, measurement data, workflows and users through software. We want a Product Manager who will treat these products as their business and their products — not a roadmap or backlog to administer. You will develop the strategy, frame the priorities and build the case — working closely enough with engineers and designers to visibly shape the product. Day to day, you will define product direction, understand customer workflows, identify unmet needs and work closely with engineering, UX, marketing and our Japan headquarters to bring better software experiences to market. This role is based in Singapore and works extensively with teams in Japan and across Hioki globally. Key Responsibilities Product Vision & Strategy Own the vision, strategy and roadmap for GENNECT series of software and apps. Define target users, use cases, key problems and differentiated value propositions. Shape how future applications fit within the wider Hioki software and connected-instrument ecosystem . Translate Hioki’s hardware strengths into software-enabled workflows and services. Make clear prioritisation decisions on what to build, improve or stop. Customer & Market Understanding Develop deep understanding of customer measurement, data management, reporting and collaboration workflows. Engage directly with customers, application engineers and sales teams to identify pain points and opportunities. Analyse competing software platforms and emerging market expectations. Convert customer insight into product priorities and validate ideas quickly before major development investment. Product Development Work hands-on with engineering and UX/UI teams throughout the product lifecycle. Create user flows, wireframes and prototypes to communicate ideas clearly. Participate in architecture and technical discussions and understand key trade-offs. Review features during development and help set the quality bar before release. Drive Agile development with a strong bias toward learning, iteration and speed. AI-Native Product Management AI should be part of how this Product Manager works every day — not to replace software engineers, but to help the PM think, test and learn faster . Use AI for research, competitive analysis, specifications, communication and product thinking. Use AI-assisted prototyping or coding tools to rapidly test ideas and user journeys. Identify opportunities to incorporate AI into GENNECT products where it creates genuine customer value. Help establish modern, AI-enabled product development practices. Commercial & Lifecycle Ownership Take responsibility for business performance, not only product delivery. Define launch, adoption and product performance KPIs. Work with Product Marketing and Sales on positioning, packaging, pricing and adoption. Track product usage, customer feedback and commercial results after launch. Manage the full lifecycle, including upgrades and eventual transition or retirement. Global Collaboration Act as a bridge between customers, global markets, Singapore teams and Hioki headquarters in Japan. Communicate product direction and priorities clearly across functions and cultures. Work closely with Product Marketing, Forward Deployment Engineers, Sales and Hioki’s Centers of Excellence to bring strong Voice of Customer into development. Requirements Must-Have Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Product Design, Business or related discipline . Around 7+ years of product management or related product development experience , including meaningful software experience. Demonstrated ownership of products from concept through launch and improvement. Strong product judgement and ability to make difficult prioritisation decisions. Good understanding of software development and Agile/Scrum methodologies. Sufficient technical understanding to engage engineers on architecture, APIs, data, cloud services and technical trade-offs. Strong UX sensibility and ability to communicate ideas through wireframes or prototypes. Strong analytical and customer-centric mindset. Ability to create clarity in ambiguous environments. Strong cross-functional and cross-cultural communication skills. Comfortable working closely with Japan-based teams (in English). Active user of modern AI tools for research, analysis, writing or prototyping. Nice to Have Experience in industrial software, connected instruments, IoT or data acquisition . Experience with software used by engineers or technical professionals. Experience in B2B or enterprise software. Exposure to manufacturing, energy, mobility or maintenance markets. Experience integrating software with physical hardware or instruments. Familiarity with Figma and AI prototyping tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, v0 or Replit .
