Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a VMC Operator based in Delhi, India. The VMC Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating Vertical Machining Centers, interpreting engineering drawings, and selecting appropriate tools and offsets to achieve required dimensions and surface finish. Day-to-day tasks include loading and unloading components, monitoring machining operations, making minor adjustments to programs or machine settings, and performing basic maintenance and cleaning of equipment. The role also involves inspecting finished parts with measuring instruments, recording production data, and coordinating with supervisors and quality teams to address any issues. The VMC Operator is expected to follow all safety guidelines and standard operating procedures while meeting production targets and maintaining quality standards. Qualifications Ability to set up and operate VMC machines, including tool selection, workpiece clamping, and offset management. Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances. Experience using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, and dial indicators for quality checks. Basic understanding of CNC programming concepts and capability to make minor edits as required. Knowledge of machining processes, cutting parameters, and materials commonly used in polymer and related industries. Commitment to safety practices, housekeeping standards, and adherence to production procedures. Minimum of a technical diploma/ITI in Machinist, Fitter, Tool & Die, or a related mechanical trade. Prior experience as a VMC or CNC operator in a manufacturing environment is preferred. Ability to work collaboratively with production and quality teams and communicate clearly with supervisors. Willingness to work in shifts and meet production deadlines with attention to detail.
