Senior Operations Control Analyst

Location: Warsaw, hybrid model (required to work from the office a minimum of 3 days per week) We are supporting an international financial services organization in the recruitment of a Senior Operations Control Analyst to join a growing Operations Control function in Warsaw. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced operations professional to play a key role in establishing and enhancing operational control frameworks within a global financial market’s environment. The successful candidate will join an international team responsible for reconciliations, management information reporting, key risk indicators, and operational control oversight across multiple regions. The position requires strong technical expertise, a deep understanding of the trade lifecycle, and the ability to act as a subject-matter expert while supporting the development of junior team members. Key Responsibilities Perform and oversee reconciliations across cash, positions, and transactions, ensuring discrepancies are investigated, resolved, and escalated appropriately. Support the design, development, and continuous enhancement of reconciliation processes and operational controls. Gather, analyze, and present management information (MI) and key risk indicator (KRI) reporting to senior stakeholders and governance forums. Implement and maintain operational control frameworks, including ongoing control oversight, testing, and effectiveness reviews. Lead or contribute to strategic initiatives including business onboarding, system migrations, process improvements, and automation projects. Act as a subject-matter expert on the full trade lifecycle, identifying operational risks, control gaps, and process improvement opportunities. Develop and enhance reporting solutions using Excel, VBA, Power Query, and Power BI to support operational oversight and risk monitoring. Build strong relationships with Front Office, Operations, Technology, Risk, Compliance, Finance, and senior management stakeholders. Monitor risk and control indicators, ensuring timely escalation and resolution of issues. Maintain accurate procedures, process documentation, and governance records. Provide mentoring, coaching, and day-to-day support to junior team members, contributing to their technical and professional development. Support the continued growth and stabilization of operations processes within the Warsaw hub. Candidate Profile, Experience & Skills 5+ years of experience in Operations Control, Operations, or Middle Office within a brokerage, banking, or financial services environment. Proven experience performing and building reconciliations across cash, positions, and transactions. Strong understanding of the full trade lifecycle across asset classes such as Equities, Fixed Income, and FX. Experience implementing operational controls and providing ongoing oversight of control frameworks. Advanced technical skills in Microsoft Excel, including VBA and Power Query. Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across global teams and seniority levels. Experience mentoring, coaching, or supporting junior colleagues. Fluent English, both written and spoken. Preferred Qualifications Experience with platforms and systems such as Duco, FIS Phase 3, Broadridge, Oracle, Kyriba, or SWIFT. Experience developing Power BI dashboards for management reporting, controls, or risk monitoring. Previous involvement in new business onboarding, operational change, automation, or process improvement initiatives. Knowledge of operational control and compliance frameworks, including SOX controls. Interest in leveraging AI-driven tools to improve operational efficiency and reporting processes. Education Bachelor's degree is preferred; candidates with strong relevant industry experience will also be considered.
