Senior Designer (UI & Photography)

Company Description Panglot Languages creates language learning resources for under-served languages, including endangered languages. We are focused on using outstanding pedagogical design to create apps which allow people to reach their language learning goals faster. Our apps make heavy use of images to allow for immersive learning, and have a clear and deliberate connection to the culture of the language in question. We do make use of some AI tools but there is no pressure at our company to use them. We only use them if they are helpful, and generally do so sparingly. Our company culture is one of trying to "do things properly" - very different from the widespread "move fast and break things" philosophy. Role Description We are looking for a Senior Designer in Poznań, Poland (hybrid role). The ideal candidate would have experience both with UI design and with photography and/or image editing. You will be working closely with the founder, and will also collaborate with software engineers and linguists. As the only designer in the company, you will have a very large influence and a lot of room to express yourself. Responsibilities: Create a design system and solidify a visual identity for our brand (Re-)design the UI of our apps Create, edit, and manage photographic images through a combination of generative AI tools, stock images, photography, image editing software, and our own in-house software Adapt our visual design (both UI and photographic assets) to reflect the cultures of the languages that we teach Necessary Qualifications 5 or more years' experience in UI design Photography and/or image editing experience B2 English Desired Qualifications Interest in language learning and cultural preservation Proficient Polish Any other language skills
