Role Description The Classroom Teacher is a full-time, on-site role based at Lucerne Elementary Secondary School in New Denver, BC. The teacher will plan and deliver daily instructional activities, design and implement lesson plans aligned with the curriculum, and assess student progress using a variety of tools. Responsibilities include creating an inclusive, engaging classroom environment, differentiating instruction to support diverse learning needs, and managing classroom routines and behavior in a positive manner. The teacher will communicate regularly with students, families, and colleagues, participate in school-based teams and professional learning, and contribute to extracurricular or school-wide initiatives as needed. Maintaining accurate records, reporting on student achievement, and adhering to school and district policies are also key components of the role. Qualifications Strong Teaching and Education skills, with demonstrated ability to deliver curriculum to K–12 learners. Experience in Lesson Planning and Training, including designing instructional activities and supporting student skill development. Effective Communication skills for interacting with students, families, colleagues, and the wider school community. Recognized teaching qualification or certification appropriate for K–12 education in British Columbia (or eligibility for certification). Knowledge of inclusive education practices and strategies to support diverse and exceptional learners. Ability to use educational technology and digital tools to enhance teaching and learning. Strong classroom management, organizational, and time-management skills. Commitment to ongoing professional growth and collaboration in a team-oriented school environment.
