Senior Cloud Platform Engineer Vancouver, BC (On-Site) Permanent Compensation: $150,000 - $180,000 + Equity We're supporting a rapidly growing Canadian AI & Robotics company as they scale the cloud infrastructure powering their machine learning, deployment and device management platforms. This role sits within a highly technical engineering team and focuses on building the cloud systems, tooling and automation that support AI model training, software deployment, fleet management and secure connectivity across a growing number of deployed systems. This is not a traditional DevOps role. The successful candidate will help shape the next generation of the company's cloud platform, improving how software is deployed, monitored, secured and managed while building internal tools that enable engineering teams to move faster and operate more effectively. The Opportunity You'll be joining at a point where many of the foundations already exist, but the next chapter is about scaling, automation and building a platform capable of supporting the company's next stage of growth. You'll play a key role in: Designing and building scalable cloud infrastructure and platform services Scaling cloud infrastructure and internal platforms to support a growing number of deployed systems Developing internal tooling, automation frameworks and developer platforms Reducing operational bottlenecks through automation and self-service tooling Supporting machine learning and GPU-based training environments Improving software deployment, release management and operational workflows Building secure connectivity solutions between cloud systems and deployed devices Improving observability, monitoring and platform reliability Contributing to security, governance and compliance initiatives Helping engineering teams move faster through better platform capabilities and automation Working closely with software, AI and machine learning teams on platform architecture and technical direction Creating a more scalable cloud platform capable of supporting future growth This is a highly visible role with significant ownership and direct influence over technical direction. What We're Looking For 5+ years of software, platform, infrastructure or cloud engineering experience Strong AWS experience, including designing, building and scaling production cloud environments Strong Python development skills Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation or similar) Experience building distributed systems and cloud platforms used by engineering teams Experience developing internal tooling, automation frameworks, developer platforms or self-service engineering tools Experience leading cloud migrations, platform modernization initiatives or large-scale automation projects Experience supporting machine learning, AI or other data-intensive workloads Experience owning security, access control, compliance or governance-related initiatives Experience operating in product focused technology companies or high-growth engineering environments Strong ownership mentality with the ability to operate independently and drive technical initiatives end-to-end Nice To Have AI / Machine Learning infrastructure experience GPU training or inference environments MLOps exposure Platform engineering experience Connected device or edge-computing environments Security, compliance or governance initiatives (SOC2, ISO27001, etc.) Containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.) Experience supporting engineering teams through internal tooling and automation If you're interested in learning more, please apply now
