Role Description The Mathematics Teacher is a full-time, on-site role located in Baton Rouge, LA. This role is responsible for planning and delivering engaging mathematics instruction aligned with district curriculum and standards for the assigned grade levels. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, teaching mathematics concepts, assessing student learning, providing feedback, and maintaining accurate records of student progress. The teacher will create a safe and inclusive classroom environment, manage classroom behavior, and differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs. Additional responsibilities include collaborating with colleagues and families, participating in professional development, and contributing to school-wide initiatives that support student success. Qualifications Strong content knowledge and instructional skills in Mathematics and Mathematics Education. Demonstrated experience with Lesson Planning and Curriculum Development aligned to standards. Status as a Qualified Teacher, with appropriate state certification or eligibility for certification in mathematics. Effective classroom management, with the ability to create an inclusive, supportive learning environment. Clear, professional communication skills for working with students, families, and colleagues. Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, or a related field; advanced degree preferred. Experience using data to inform instruction and support varied learning needs. Commitment to ongoing professional learning and to the educational mission of East Baton Rouge Parish School System.
