Job Description We are seeking an experienced Senior Machine-Learning (ML) Engineer to join our growing team. The person who fills this role will apply ML principles and practices to large datasets of time-series data and associated metadata to create decoding models and discover new insights, all as part of a larger goal to empower individuals with severe physical disabilities to control a computer and communicate effectively with others. Key Responsibilities Design and create state-of-the-art ML models for translating time-series data into control signals for a computer and for communication Perform feature engineering on existing and future data to discover richer representations of the datasets Ensure robustness of the decoding models and pipeline for product deployment in real-world scenarios Incorporate existing advanced AI tools (e.g. LLMs) into research workflows Assist in designing cloud-based ML systems and data structures for large-scale operational pipelines and data-science platforms Working collaboratively within a small team to address ML needs of the products, including assisting in the integration of ML models into product applications Working independently to achieve ML milestones in a timely fashion without being micro-managed Follow proper coding practices to create and maintain reproducible, clear, and highly documented code Contribute to documentation for a Quality Management System, as appropriate and relevant to ML implementations that become part of medical products Ideal Candidate Has extensive experience and can demonstrate proficiency in ML applications, particularly those involving time-series data Has worked on projects related to medical or clinical applications Is highly motivated to work on fast-paced projects that will positively impact patient quality of life Can communicate clearly and effectively and enjoys working closely as part of a small team Required Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Math, Engineering, Data Science, or other relevant quantitative fields Minimum of 5 years of combined academic and professional ML experience Proficiency in Python and either tensorflow or pytorch (pytorch is preferred) Proficiency in using GPUs and GPU software toolkits to accelerate ML pipelines Preferred Qualifications PhD in a relevant quantitative field Both academic and industry ML experience Publication history in ML-related academic projects Experience working with time-series data from human participants or other physiological time-series data Salary $170,000 - $220,000 USD What We Offer An opportunity to work on exciting, cutting-edge projects to transform patients’ lives in a highly collaborative work environment.
