The ideal candidate should have strong backend development experience and be comfortable working on scalable, high-performance systems. Key Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js . Build and integrate RESTful APIs and microservices . Work with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB , or similar. Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code. Collaborate with frontend, product, QA, and other engineering teams. Troubleshoot production issues and improve application performance. Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and system design. Required Skills 2–5 years of experience in backend development. Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript. Good understanding of REST APIs, microservices, and backend architecture . Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases. Good understanding of Git, debugging, and performance optimization . Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Good to Have Experience with AWS/cloud platforms . Experience working with high-scale or transaction-heavy applications . Exposure to gaming, fintech, e-commerce, or other consumer-facing products .

If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully.
