For our client, we are seeking a Staff Data Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will partner with business, technical, and operational stakeholders to build reporting, surface trends, and translate analysis into action. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen data-driven execution and help teams focus on the metrics that matter most within a healthcare environment. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $153,000 – $210,000 annually Responsibilities Oversee the data pipeline that supports member care and operational workflows Enhance quality of member identity and eligibility data to ensure integrity in clinical and financial processes Build and maintain systems for data ingestion and transformation to ensure reliability and freshness Manage the reverse-ETL layer that feeds critical operational data for care model efficiency Define and maintain a semantic and metrics layer for consistent metric definitions across dashboards Ensure metrics are machine-readable and constrain conclusions for AI applications Develop self-serve analytics for stakeholders to access trusted data definitions Qualifications 6+ years of experience as an engineer who builds trustworthy systems Hands-on experience with dbt and SQL at production scale, including orchestration with Dagster, Airflow, or equivalent Experience owning operational or reverse-ETL data systems in production Experience designing or maintaining a semantic or metrics layer Understanding of LLMs and fluent use of AI assistant tools for engineering and data analytics Demonstrated ability to scale AI adoption for team collaboration Drawn to mission-oriented work, comfortable partnering with various stakeholders Benefits Eligible for health insurance and life insurance Retirement benefits including participation in the company’s equity program Paid time off for vacation and sick leave Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
