Data Insights Lead – Insurance Reserving New York, NY (Hybrid – 3 days in office) Base salary: $150,000–$200,000 Annual bonus: 20–25% target Comprehensive benefits including medical, retirement, paid time off, wellness programmes, and tuition assistance. We're looking for a Data Insights Lead to transform how reserving data is used across a leading global insurance organisation. This is a unique opportunity to partner with actuarial, finance, claims, underwriting, and data teams to build modern analytics solutions that improve insight, reduce manual processes, and support strategic decision-making. What you'll do • Lead the development of dashboards, datasets, and self-service analytics that provide clear insight into reserving performance. • Turn complex insurance data into meaningful, actionable intelligence for business stakeholders. • Improve reporting by replacing manual processes with scalable, automated solutions. • Identify trends and reserve movements, helping teams understand key drivers and emerging risks. • Collaborate with data, actuarial, finance, and technology teams to ensure trusted, high-quality data is available for decision-making. • Explore opportunities to apply AI and advanced analytics to enhance reserving insights and efficiency. • Help establish best practices for reporting, data definitions, and governance. Required Experience & Skills Experience in data, analytics, actuarial, finance, or a related insurance or reinsurance role. Experience helping to design, improve, or deliver data and analytics solutions for business users. A deep understanding of insurance or reinsurance data, including how claims, policy, exposure, premium, underwriting, finance, and actuarial information can be used to support analysis. The ability to lead through influence, work with technical teams, and bring people together around a shared outcome. Strong communication skills, including the ability to make complex data and analysis clear, practical, and actionable. Experience creating dashboards, datasets, visualizations, or self-service tools that help business users understand performance, trends, and drivers. Curiosity about AI and emerging technologies, and an interest in applying them to real business problems in a practical and responsible way. Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI, or similar platforms. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with reserving, actuarial, finance, claims, underwriting, or performance reporting teams. Some knowledge of reserving processes, actuarial triangles, loss development, claims trends, or financial close reporting. Hands-on experience with Power BI and other visualization platforms.
