Fulcrum Digital works with over 100 global clients, including Fortune 500 enterprises, combining deep industry expertise with capabilities in enterprise AI, digital engineering, cloud modernisation, platform integration, and generative AI. The role We are seeking a Mid-Level AI Engineer with strong hands-on development experience to design, build, and deploy Generative AI and agentic AI solutions. This role is based in the NYC metro area, with 3 days per week in office. The ideal candidate is proficient in Python and has practical experience building AI agents using frameworks such as LangChain/LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, or similar. You will be comfortable taking an AI use case from prototype to production, and capable of working independently while collaborating closely with architects, product teams, and fellow engineers. What you'll do Design, build, and deploy Generative AI and agentic AI solutions for enterprise use cases Develop AI agents incorporating tool/function calling, RAG, workflow orchestration, and memory/state management Integrate AI solutions with enterprise APIs and data sources Build and optimize cloud-native AI/agent solutions on Microsoft Azure (Azure AI Foundry, Azure OpenAI, AI Search, Agent Service) and/or AWS (Amazon Bedrock, Bedrock Agents/AgentCore, Knowledge Bases, Lambda) Apply prompt engineering techniques and work with vector databases to support AI solution development Take AI use cases from prototype through to production, including evaluation/testing, guardrails, and observability Implement authentication/security best practices across AI solutions Deploy AI solutions through APIs or containerized services Collaborate with architects, product teams, and other engineers to deliver working AI agents What you bring Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field 3-4 years of hands-on development experience Strong proficiency in Python Practical experience developing AI agents using LangChain/LangGraph, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, or similar frameworks Experience with tool/function calling, RAG, workflow orchestration, and memory/state management Experience with cloud-native AI/agent services on Microsoft Azure and/or AWS strongly preferred Familiarity with prompt engineering, vector databases, and evaluation/testing of AI solutions Understanding of guardrails, observability, and authentication/security for AI systems Experience deploying solutions through APIs or containerized services Hands-on, pragmatic approach with the ability to independently build working AI agents
