Context: We are seeking an experienced Windows administrator & Vulnerability Patch Manager to join our team in New York. Our client, a leading global financial services group is looking for a Systems Engineer to join its Servers, Storage & Database team in New York. This is a high-visibility role for someone who wants to own the vulnerability and patch management function for a global banking environment, not just execute tickets, but drive the process end-to-end. About the Role: You'll take the lead on patch management across the organization's Windows and Linux server infrastructure (physical and virtual), identifying and remediating vulnerabilities sourced from the global Head Office, the VPM Manager, IT Security, and vendors. You'll work closely with senior Server Administrators, the VPM/EOL Manager, and global Head Office teams on all things patching, hardening, and vulnerability remediation. This role requires someone who's equally comfortable in the weeds technically and confident explaining risk and remediation status to non-technical stakeholders. Responsibilities: Monitor and manage automated Windows patching; triage directly with the Head Office MECM engineering team Manage and test MECM application packages alongside the packaging team and VPM Manager Remediate software vulnerabilities on Windows and Linux servers via on-demand patching or removal Develop and deploy Active Directory group policies to remediate vulnerabilities and harden third-party applications/services Report on vulnerabilities across all Server, Storage & Database assets, Windows, Linux/Unix, VMware hosts, appliances, and VMs Coordinate and escalate remediation efforts both domestically and globally Perform in-depth analysis of Head Office data via Splunk and Qualys; build reconciliation processes between data sources Enforce VPM policies and procedures across the Americas region; apply best practices in patching, configuration, and monitoring Partner with local/global IT teams on project planning and execution for patching initiatives Profile: Senior-level Windows Administration MECM/SCCM Qualys Splunk Linux Administration (RHEL and package management tools) VMware engineering Networking administration concepts Scripting/automation Security and remediation practices Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into non-technical terms Highly organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment Self-starter who can operate with minimal supervision while taking full ownership of assigned work Results-driven with strong follow-through
