Our client, a financial services organization, is undergoing a re-architecture of its data distribution processes to meet new regulatory requirements. This is a high-visibility project with exposure across multiple teams and business areas. We are looking for a hands-on Pentaho Data Integration (PDI) developer to execute the development work: building and implementing transactional ETL processes (not batch) based on that design. Upon project completion, this person will transition into maintaining and supporting the code going forward. What You'll Do Build and maintain transactional ETL pipelines using Pentaho Data Integration (PDI/Kettle) Work within an existing architecture and integration framework designed by the onsite SME Customize and extend Pentaho transformations/jobs using JavaScript and/or Python Integrate with and move data across Sybase, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB (PostgreSQL preferred; not required to have deep expertise in all four) Work with JSON and XML data formats as part of transformation logic Collaborate with automation/scripting processes already in place Communicate and coordinate across multiple teams — strong communication skills are essential Eventually take ownership of the codebase for ongoing maintenance What We're Looking For 5+ years of hands-on Pentaho Data Integration (PDI) development experience 5+ years working with Sybase, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, and/or MongoDB Java or Python experience Strong knowledge of JSON and XML formats (YAML a plus) Experience with JavaScript and Shell Scripting Familiarity with Git and Jira for version control and tracking Prior experience in Financial Services / FinTech (strongly preferred) Strong communication skills — this role requires directing and aligning with multiple teams Ability to work independently once ramped up, taking real ownership of the code Company Requirements: What We're Looking For 5+ years of hands-on Pentaho Data Integration (PDI) development experience 5+ years working with Sybase, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, and/or MongoDB (PostgresSQL preferred) Java, JavaScript or Python development experience Strong knowledge of JSON and XML formats (YAML a plus) Experience with JavaScript and Shell Scripting Familiarity with Git and Jira for version control and tracking Prior experience in Financial Services / FinTech (strongly preferred) Strong communication skills — this role requires directing and aligning with multiple teams Ability to work independently once ramped up, taking real ownership of the code
