Visit us at UST.com Summary: UST is looking for Senior Backend Developer with strong expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, REST APIs, and AWS to design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud-native applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with enterprise-grade backend systems, microservices, API-driven architectures, and AWS cloud services , along with strong software engineering and problem-solving skills. The Opportunity: Key Roles & Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js and TypeScript. Build, integrate, and enhance RESTful APIs and microservices. Develop and deploy cloud-native applications using AWS services. Design secure, resilient, highly available, and high-performing backend systems. Apply software design patterns, clean code principles, and backend architecture best practices. Participate in technical design, architecture discussions, and code reviews. Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability. Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation. Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, ensuring system stability and availability. Collaborate with product managers, architects, frontend developers, QA, DevOps, and other cross-functional teams. Mentor junior developers and contribute to engineering standards and best practices. Mandatory Skills & Qualifications Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and TypeScript . Strong expertise in REST API development and API-driven architectures . Proven experience developing microservices-based applications . Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services , such as: AWS Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, S3, DynamoDB, CloudWatch. Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases. Strong understanding of backend architecture, software design patterns, scalability, and system design. Experience with Git, CI/CD, and software development lifecycle practices. Strong understanding of secure, reliable, and high-performance backend development. Experience troubleshooting and resolving production-level technical issues. Desired Skills: Experience with Kotlin. Hands-on experience with Terraform or AWS CloudFormation. Experience with Docker and Kubernetes. Knowledge of event-driven architecture and messaging technologies such as Kafka, Amazon SNS, and Amazon SQS. Experience with observability, logging, monitoring, and application performance tools. Experience developing serverless applications. Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments. Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related technical field. A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Equivalent professional experience with strong hands-on backend development expertise may be considered.
