Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a VMC Setter and Operator based in Hosur. The role involves setting up Vertical Machining Centers (VMC), including selecting and installing tools, setting work offsets, and loading programs as per job requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include operating the VMC to produce parts to specification, monitoring machine performance, and adjusting parameters to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish. The VMC Setter and Operator will inspect components using measuring instruments, record production data, and report any deviations or equipment issues. The role also requires following safety procedures, maintaining cleanliness around the machines, coordinating with supervisors and quality teams, and supporting preventive maintenance activities. Qualifications Ability to set and operate VMC machines, including tooling setup, work holding, and program loading. Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, process sheets, and basic CNC programs. Proficiency in using measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, and dial indicators. Knowledge of machining parameters, cutting tools, and basic troubleshooting for dimensional or surface finish issues. Understanding of standard safety practices and housekeeping in a machine shop environment. Previous experience in a forging or precision machining environment is an advantage. Ability to work in shifts, meet production targets, and collaborate with production and quality teams. Relevant technical qualification (ITI, Diploma, or equivalent in Mechanical or related field) preferred.
