Join FactSet's Release Infrastructure team and own the developer platforms that power engineering teams worldwide. You'll manage critical platforms —GitHub, Sourcegraph, SonarQube, and Artifactory —that directly impacts how quickly we deliver financial data and analytics solutions to investment professionals globally. Responsibilities Build and maintain backend services in Go and Python Develop automation that scales across thousands of engineers Design and deploy cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Linux Architect integrations between enterprise platforms Evaluate emerging tools and drive adoption of modern engineering practices Participate in an on-call rotation to support critical infrastructure (7 days for 12 hours - 2 weeks off and then back on call for 7 days/12hours) Minimum Requirements Minimum of 2 years' experience in writing backend services and/or automation using a high-level programming language (Strong preference for Go, Python, or NodeJS). Willingness to learn and develop in multiple languages used by team (Go and Python). Minimum of 2 years' experience developing software release pipelines for publishing libraries/applications/services using CI/CD platform(s) (Strong preference for GitHub/GitLab/ Forgejo Actions). Critical /Required Skills Familiarly with Continuous Integration and Delivery best practices. Experience in system administrative tasks, including deployment, configuration, and operation of Linux systems (Strong preference for Debian-based distributions). Ability to clearly communicate with geographically distributed team members, and other employees, using asynchronous communication tools. Bachelor’s degree in computer science Desired Skills Familiarity with the following platforms: GitHub and Artifactory. Experience using an Infrastructure as Code tool, such as Terraform/OpenTofu or Pulumi, for architecting, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure. Experience using Docker and Kubernetes. That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
