About The Business Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) is a greenfield venture of the Tata Group with expertise in manufacturing precision components. Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) is building India’s first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry. This facility will produce chips for applications such as power management IC, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCU) and high-performance computing logic, addressing the growing demand in markets such as automotive, computing and data storage, wireless communications and artificial intelligence. Tata Electronics is a subsidiary of the Tata group. The Tata Group operates in more than 100 countries across six continents, with the mission 'To improve the quality of life of the communities we serve globally, through long term stakeholder value creation based on leadership with Trust.’ Job Purpose Operate and set up conventional and CNC tool room machines to manufacture, repair, modify, and maintain tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and precision components. Key Responsibilities Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Set up and operate lathe, milling, grinding, drilling, and other tool room machines. Manufacturing and repair tooling, fixtures, jigs, gauges, and machine parts. Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and dial indicators. Inspect components to ensure dimensional accuracy and quality requirements. Carry out preventive maintenance and maintain machine cleanliness. Troubleshoot machining issues and recommend process improvements. Follow safety, quality, and company procedures. Required Qualifications ITI/Diploma in Machinist, Tool & Die Making, or Mechanical Engineering. 2-5 years of tool room machining experience (or as required). Knowledge of machining practices, tooling, materials, and tolerances. Skills & Competencies Blueprint reading and GD&T awareness. Strong measurement and inspection skills. Problem solving and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. KPIs Tool manufacturing/repair completion on schedule. Dimensional accuracy and quality compliance. Machine utilization and productivity. Reduction of tooling downtime and rework.
