Position Description CGI is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, Angular, AWS, and cloud-native technologies to design, develop, and deliver scalable enterprise applications in cloud-native and hybrid environments. You will provide technical leadership, drive solution design, develop high-quality software, and solve complex distributed system challenges while mentoring team members and promoting engineering best practices. This is a permanent, full-time position requiring partners to work 5 days per week from the office. Eligible candidates must be located in or willing to work from one of the following locations: Halifax, NS, Stratford, PEI or Moncton, NB. Your future duties and responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java/J2EE applications using Spring Boot and microservices architecture. Architect and implement RESTful APIs and multi-layered enterprise applications. Develop modern, responsive user interfaces using Angular. Design and optimize complex SQL/PL SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects (Oracle preferred). Implement and manage ORM solutions using Hibernate and JPA. Build and deploy applications in AWS cloud environments, including EKS, S3, and Lambda. Develop containerized applications using Docker and manage orchestration with Kubernetes. Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, Jenkins, uDeploy, and Git best practices. Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot to accelerate development, generate code, and automate testing. Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues across distributed systems and hybrid cloud environments. Collaborate with architects, DevOps engineers, QA teams, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions. Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices across the team. Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role 8+ years of hands-on experience in Java/J2EE development. Strong expertise in Spring Boot, Microservices Architecture, and REST API development. Proven experience with Angular and modern front-end development practices. Strong experience with Oracle databases, SQL/PL SQL, stored procedures, data movement, and performance tuning. Solid understanding of Hibernate, JPA, and ORM best practices. Hands-on experience with AWS services, including EKS, S3, and Lambda. Experience with Docker and Kubernetes. Strong working knowledge of CI/CD tools, including GitHub, Jenkins, and uDeploy. Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot. Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems in distributed environments. Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills. Nice to Have Experience working within the Financial Services domain. CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $65,000–$125,000. This role is an existing vacancy.
