This is an opportunity for an early-career software developer to build and maintain web applications using Ruby and Ruby on Rails. You’ll collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into reliable technical solutions. The role combines backend development with frontend work, giving you exposure to technologies such as Vue.js, JavaScript, and SASS/CSS. You’ll also work with cloud deployment, version control, and modern software engineering practices in a remote environment. Your contributions will directly support the delivery and continuous improvement of business-critical applications. You’ll participate in code reviews, collaborate with other developers, and contribute ideas that improve development processes. Accountabilities Collaborate with product managers and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and develop Ruby scripts and applications aligned with business needs. Write clean, maintainable, efficient, and scalable code using Ruby and Ruby on Rails. Develop and maintain frontend components using Vue.js or other modern JavaScript frameworks. Deploy and manage applications using Heroku and support reliable cloud-based application operations. Follow Git version-control best practices and collaborate effectively within a development team. Create and maintain SASS/CSS stylesheets to deliver consistent, functional, and visually appealing user interfaces. Apply common software engineering design patterns and development principles to produce high-quality, scalable solutions. Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and incorporate feedback from peers. Contribute to improving development processes, methodologies, and engineering practices. Stay current with developments in Ruby, web development, and related technologies to continuously improve technical capabilities. Requirements At least 1 year of professional experience in Ruby scripting and software development. Strong proficiency in Ruby and Ruby on Rails. Experience with frontend JavaScript frameworks such as Vue.js or similar technologies. Familiarity with Heroku deployment and managing applications in cloud environments. Good understanding of Git and collaborative version-control practices. Proficiency in SASS/CSS for styling and maintaining web applications. Understanding and practical application of common software engineering design patterns. Experience with Feathery is preferred. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a remote environment. Experience with DevOps practices, shared codebases, CircleCI, or automated testing is a plus.
