Senior Database Administrator – AWS

Role: Senior Database Administrator – AWS Location: Plano, TX – Hybrid (Locals Only) Duration: Long-Term Contract-to-Hire Interview: Virtual + In-Person Important: This is a Contract-to-Hire position. Job Summary: We are looking for a Senior Database Administrator / Database Engineer with strong experience in AWS, database administration, automation, and cloud migrations . The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing enterprise databases and migrating on-premises databases to AWS. Key Responsibilities Manage and support enterprise databases in production environments. Work with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and/or Oracle databases. Manage AWS RDS and Aurora environments. Perform database migrations from on-premises environments to AWS . Perform database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting . Develop automation using Python, Bash, or PowerShell . Use Terraform, Ansible, or other Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools . Work with Git, CI/CD, and DevOps practices . Manage backup/recovery, High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), security, and capacity planning . Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and leadership to other team members. Required Skills 8–10+ years of Database Administration / Database Engineering experience. Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Oracle ; experience with multiple platforms is preferred. Strong AWS RDS/Aurora experience. Experience with on premises to AWS database migrations . Strong database performance tuning and optimization skills. Automation experience with Python, Bash, or PowerShell . Experience with Terraform, Ansible, or similar IaC tools . Experience with Git, CI/CD, and DevOps . Strong knowledge of Backup/Recovery, HA, DR, Security, and Capacity Planning . Strong communication and troubleshooting skills. Ability to act as a technical lead and mentor .
