Our client is seeking a skilled Software Developer with strong C++ expertise to join their growing engineering team. In this role, you will develop and enhance high-performance data processing systems, working on scalable microservices and distributed applications within a collaborative and innovative environment. Key Responsibilities: Develop, enhance, and maintain C++-based microservices and backend applications. Optimise software performance, scalability, and reliability for large-scale data processing. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve software issues to ensure system stability. Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following engineering best practices. Conduct and participate in code reviews to uphold high development standards. Collaborate closely with infrastructure and support teams to streamline deployments and operations. Contribute to the architecture and design of distributed data processing pipelines. Stay current with emerging technologies and advancements in modern C++ development. Requirements: 3+ years of professional software development experience using C++. Strong experience building microservices and asynchronous, multi-threaded applications. Solid Linux development and debugging experience. Good knowledge of databases and SQL. Familiarity with data serialisation technologies such as Apache Arrow, Parquet, Protocol Buffers, or FlatBuffers. Experience working with gRPC, HTTP/REST, and WebSocket protocols. Exposure to cloud technologies and containerisation, including AWS, Google Cloud, Docker, and Kubernetes. Understanding of distributed systems and large-scale data processing architectures. Experience in the financial services industry, particularly market data, trading systems, or order gateways, would be advantageous. Strong understanding of memory management, performance optimisation, and low-latency system design is highly desirable.
