Role Description This full-time Commis Chef role at Del Rio Riverside Resort is an on-site position based in Wisemans Ferry, NSW. The Commis Chef supports the kitchen team with daily food preparation, cooking, and plating in line with menu standards and portion controls. Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining high levels of kitchen hygiene, organizing ingredients and workstations, and assisting senior chefs during service. The role also involves following food safety procedures, supporting stock rotation, and helping with receiving and storing deliveries. The Commis Chef collaborates closely with the culinary and front-of-house teams to ensure efficient service and a positive guest experience. Qualifications Strong food preparation skills, including basic knife work and ingredient handling. Solid cooking and culinary skills, with the ability to follow recipes and kitchen procedures. Knowledge of hygiene and food safety standards, with a commitment to maintaining a clean work environment. Effective communication skills to collaborate with kitchen and service teams. Relevant culinary training or apprenticeship, and prior experience in a commercial kitchen preferred. Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and evenings, and perform in a fast-paced environment. Reliability, attention to detail, and a positive, team-focused attitude.
