Job Description The Software / Database Developer will be part of an agile international team responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining modern cloud-based data solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The role focuses on building scalable data pipelines, developing SQL-based data models, and supporting data-driven business processes. Working closely with Product Owners, Data Engineers, Data Analysts, and Solution Architects, the developer contributes to the continuous improvement of the company's cloud-based data platform while ensuring high standards for quality and maintainability.Google Cloud Platform (GCP), BigQuery, dbt, Apache Airflow, Git, JIRA, MS Office. Activity description and concrete tasks Working in an international agile team within Deutsche Telekom. Daily collaboration with business experts, architects and software engineers located in Germany and Nearshore locations. 1 Software & Database Development Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and database solutions on Google Cloud Platform. Develop efficient and maintainable SQL code for data transformation and reporting. Build and optimize data models using dbt (Data Build Tool). Develop and maintain ETL processes. Optimize database performance and query execution. Perform unit testing and support integration testing activities. 2. Cloud Engineering Develop cloud-native solutions using Google Cloud Platform services. Work with BigQuery as the primary data platform. Monitor data quality. Support deployment and release activities. 3. Agile Team Collaboration Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Data Engineers, Architects, and Business Analysts. Participate in Sprint Planning, Refinements, Daily Stand-ups, Reviews, and Retrospectives. Contribute to technical solution design and architecture discussions. Review code and ensure compliance with development standards and best practices. Continuously improve development processes and engineering practices. Qualifications Must Have Strong experience in software development with a focus on database development. Excellent SQL programming skills. Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Strong knowledge of BigQuery. Experience with dbt (Data Build Tool). Experience with Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration. Experience using Git for version control. Experience with CI/CD concepts and DevOps practices. Knowledge of relational database design and data modeling. Experience developing ETL pipelines. Experience with REST APIs and data integration concepts. Familiarity with Agile software development (Scrum and/or SAFe). German language skills are an advantage. Nice to Have Experience using AI-assisted software development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, or similar) to improve development efficiency and code quality. Experience integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) capabilities into data products and data-driven solutions. Knowledge of Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), or AI-powered data engineering concepts is an advantage. Interest in evaluating and adopting emerging AI technologies to enhance data engineering, analytics, and software development processes. Telecommunications industry experience.
