Job Title: Lead Database Administrator Location: Chennai, India (Onsite)- Embassy Splendid Tech Zone, Pallavaram. Employment Type: Full-Time (FTE) Domain: Financial Services / Banking & FinTech About the Role We are seeking a Lead Database Administrator to join our database engineering team, focusing on the design, optimization, and security of mission-critical database systems for a premier US-based Banking and FinTech platform. This role ensures high availability, top performance, and stringent security across multi-cloud and hybrid database infrastructures handling high-volume transactions. Key Responsibilities Database Operations: Administer and optimize relational (SQL Server) and NoSQL (Cosmos DB/DynamoDB) environments across production and non-production setups. Performance Engineering: Monitor database performance, execute query optimization, index tuning, and proactively resolve bottlenecks. High Availability & DR: Design and maintain automated failover strategies, backup/recovery protocols, and disaster recovery strategies (RPO/RTO). Automation & IaC: Partner with DevOps engineering to automate database deployments using Terraform/CloudFormation and CI/CD pipelines. Security & Compliance: Enforce data governance, encryption, and regulatory standards (PCI DSS, SOC 2). Key Requirements & Qualifications Experience: 10+ years of core Database Administration experience in regulated financial or high-volume enterprise environments. Core Technical Stack: Expertise in SQL Server and AWS database services (RDS, Aurora, Redshift). NoSQL & Cloud: Familiarity with NoSQL databases ( Azure Cosmos DB , DynamoDB) and Infrastructure-as-Code ( Terraform , CloudFormation). Scripting: Proficient in Python, PowerShell, or Bash for operational automation. Monitoring: Hands-on experience with tools such as Datadog, CloudWatch, or Redgate.
