Responsibilities: Comply with all legal and regulatory requirements to ensure obligations are met. Manage the preparation and maintenance of accurate accounting records following internal procedures and statutory requirements to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, codes of conduct and best practice guidelines. Provide high-level advice, guidance and information on financial matters to support decision-making and improve understanding of financial management. Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including internal and external auditors, to ensure service delivery meets customer expectations. Contribute and manage the refinement of processes, procedures and systems to continuously improve the efficiency of accounting activities. Manage the production of accurate financial returns required by internal and external bodies and regulators to meet reporting deadlines. Motivate and develop the team to ensure the required standards of performance, and support the continuing professional development of all team members. Develop relationships in line with the business plan to support the achievement of business objectives. Work Experience: Preferred Work Experience includes: Moderate accounting or finance experience within a complex financial services organisation. Proven experience of consistent and constructive people management capabilities. Proven experience in taking active accountability for own workload. Solid accounting experience within a financial services organisation. Proven experience of working with all levels of an organisation, particularly to be credible to senior management. Qualifications: Necessary Qualifications include: Tertiary qualifications or equivalent combination of education and work experience. Certifications as an accountant.
