Inviting Applications for PhP/Laravel Developer in the IT Infrastructure and Services Department, NIST University, Institute Park, Berhampur, Odisha. Position Type- Onsite, Full-Time Responsibilities: NIST University is seeking a talented and dedicated PhP/Laravel Developer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing our website and developing new microsites, ensuring they are secure, user-friendly, and effective in achieving our educational objectives. This role involves working closely with various departments to understand their needs and translate them into robust, scalable web solutions. The candidate is expected to have following job responsibility: 1. Website Development: • Oversee and manage the daily activities related to the institute's website to ensure it is fully functional and available 24/7. • Develop, test, and deploy new microsites, ensuring they align with the institute's overall digital strategy and branding. • Regularly update the website with new content, features, and functionalities. Perform routine checks to ensure compatibility with new web standards and technologies. • Must be skilled and experienced with PHP, Laravel, PHP-CodeIgniter, Core PHP, CSS, Java, JavaScript, HTML, and databases like MySQL/MySQLi, including stored procedures and triggers. • Understand common software development practices and be able to create wireframes and visual design comps, ensuring a safe and efficient user experience. 2. Code Optimization & Troubleshooting: • Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code that adheres to industry standards and best practices. • Develop code that is scalable and can handle increasing traffic and data load without performance degradation. • Maintain detailed documentation of code, changes, and system architecture to facilitate future development and maintenance. • Monitor the website and associated systems for any issues or anomalies. Use debugging tools to identify the root cause of problems. • Regularly monitor and update security protocols, perform vulnerability assessments, and respond to security incidents promptly. 3. Database Management: The person must have experience for developing and maintaining website with backend data storage expertise in leveraging databases & must be familiar with various APIs. • Configure and set up MySQL databases for various applications and websites. • Regularly optimize databases for performance, ensuring quick query responses and efficient data storage. • Implement and manage security protocols to protect data integrity and prevent unauthorized access. Regularly back up databases to prevent data loss. • Develop and maintain websites with backend data storage expertise in leveraging databases. Familiarity with various APIs and interfaces is essentials. 4. Web Administration: • Full knowledge of website administration and hosting on server platforms. • Support website/server development, maintenance, security, backups, troubleshooting, and content updates. • Experience with different web hosting tools such as WordPress, Magento, Drupal, Joomla CMS. Qualifications and Experience: The candidate preferably be with engineering or related background with broad experience and knowledge in Web development, Coding, Database Management and Web administration. • 1–2 years of relevant professional experience in web development, web administration, or a related field. • Proficiency in PHP, Laravel, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, MySQL, and Agile development methodology. • Experience with front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and jQuery. • Passionate learner with good team spirit and collaboration aptitude. • Understanding of web standards, security practices, and SEO principles.
