Bystronic Software. The digital future of sheet metal processing. In this role, you will join our Bystronic Software team. With our software solutions, developed specifically for the sheet metal processing industry, we enable companies to digitize their entire processes - from the initial quote to the final delivery. Join Bystronic Software to build world-class CAD/CAM and manufacturing software solutions for the sheet metal industry. In this role, you will design, develop and evolve reliable software that supports connected, efficient and scalable industrial production. What you will be doing • Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable and reliable code to meet project requirements. • Develop high-quality software solutions using modern Microsoft technologies and engineering practices. • Ensure the scalability, performance and security of software solutions. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of software components. • Participate in technical discussions to identify the best possible solutions and suggest improvements in architecture, structure, implementation and performance. • Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices to drive innovation and maintain a competitive edge. Your education & experience • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or a related technical field. • A minimum of 4 years of experience in software development. What you need to succeed • Strong expertise in Microsoft technologies, including .NET and C#. • Experience developing desktop applications using WPF. • Ability to design clean, scalable and maintainable software solutions. • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to translate business needs into robust technical solutions. • Good understanding of software quality, performance, security and maintainability principles. • Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written. • Team spirit, ownership and willingness to collaborate in multidisciplinary agile teams. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
