Job Description We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our R&D Engineering team, drive new product development and continuous improvement, and deliver innovative, cost-effective engineering solutions that meet customer needs and strengthen NOV’s technological advantage. Responsible for directing and coordinating the Engineering team to maintain and improve existing products while addressing the customers’ needs and maintaining NOVs technological advantage in the industry. Ensuring that this is achieved in a cost effective and efficient manner. Responsibilities Deliver engineering projects on time, on budget, and to quality expectations. Improve product reliability and reduce customer issues through sustaining engineering. Develop and retain a high-performing engineering team through coaching and succession planning. Drive cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives that improve profitability. Partner with customers and cross-functional teams to ensure engineering solutions meet business and market needs. Direct department activities to design new products, modify existing designs, and improve production techniques. Utilize standard engineering calculations related to specific design or analytical projects. Manage and coordinate team activities including training, employee development, performance evaluation, hiring decisions, establishment of goals, and performance objectives. Manage budget and expenditures. Direct and see project through to completion with assistance of technical personnel. Develop accurate and complete documentation of data and project results in a timely manner. Interact with personnel in other departments and disciplines. Participate in action plans for new projects defined by supervisor. Consistently produce quality work and recommend areas where quality can be improved. Assist with generation and delivery of customer presentations. Attend field runs and visit service shops to provide basic technical support for products as needed. Partner with Manufacturing to improve manufacturability, reduce costs, and optimize product performance. Qualifications A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering or similar 12-15 years’ experience in Research and Development engineering role. Product Specific Design Training - Able to use design concepts, manufacturing knowledge and repair knowledge to trouble shoot product function issues. CAD - Create/manipulate complex models/parts/assemblies. FEA - Understand the theory behind FEA and be able to interpret results. CFD - Understand the theory behind CFD and be able to interpret results. IP Series Training – Understand how to do a patent search.
