What you are expected to have: Minimum 12+ years of overall experience and 5+ years of relevant data architecture experience, preferably as a Data Architect, or equivalent experience as a senior Data Engineering Lead with demonstrable architecture ownership. Strong hands-on Teradata capability within an on-premises enterprise data warehouse environment, including SQL querying, data investigation, issue analysis, and technical validation. Practical experience with the Teradata Financial Services Data Model or equivalent financial services data model. Strong understanding of enterprise data warehouse design, data marts, data integration patterns, and large-scale data platform delivery. Experience working in banking, financial services, or regulatory data environments. Knowledge of regulatory data requirements and compliance expectations, including BCBS239, RDARR, regulatory reporting, data traceability, auditability, and evidence-based control design. Strong data analysis and data modelling capability, including source data analysis, relationship mapping, and structure definition. Working knowledge of ETL delivery processes and tools, ideally including Informatica and/or DataStage. Experience designing or implementing metadata-driven ingestion, transformation, control, reconciliation, or data delivery frameworks. Working knowledge of Control-M or comparable batch scheduling and orchestration tools. Strong stakeholder management and governance presentation experience across business stakeholders, Architecture Boards, governance forums, delivery leads, and peer architecture teams. Proven ability to produce governance-ready architecture artefacts, including High Level Design documents and Architecture Design Decisions. Strong judgement, independent ownership, and the ability to challenge constructively while driving pragmatic decisions through to resolution. Experience or strong appreciation of an Inmon-style integrated enterprise data warehouse architecture approach. Additional Industry-Relevant Capabilities Data governance by design, including data quality, lineage, controls, reconciliation, auditability, and evidence capture. Awareness of operational resilience, data observability, and production support considerations. Appreciation of modern data architecture patterns where relevant to hybrid warehouse and lake environments. Desirable Requirements Experience with the Teradata Global Control Framework (GCFR) or similar control framework is an added advantage. Appreciation of Cloudera or comparable big data platforms is an added advantage, particularly where integration with enterprise warehouse or lake environments is required. Broader hands-on data engineering background, particularly where it supports pragmatic architecture and delivery decision-making. What you will do: Own and support data architecture design for enterprise data warehouse delivery. Analyse source data, data flows, business requirements, and downstream consumption needs. Support Teradata SQL investigation, detailed technical analysis, and solution validation where required. Work with business stakeholders, domains, engineers, testers, delivery leads, and peer architects to resolve queries and align on solution direction. Assess design options rationally and recommend pragmatic, scalable, and standards-aligned solutions. Produce and maintain architecture artefacts such as High Level Design documents, Architecture Design Decisions, solution options, design rationale, assumptions, risks, and governance-ready packs. Present architecture designs, options, and recommendations to Architecture Boards or governance forums to secure alignment and approval. Embed data governance, metadata, lineage, controls, reconciliation, auditability, privacy, and regulatory compliance into solution design, including metadata-driven delivery frameworks where appropriate. Support delivery teams through build, testing, implementation, and issue resolution.
