FinOps Engineer at BairesDev As a FinOps Engineer, you will optimize cloud spending across the organization to ensure maximum business value. You will provide visibility into cloud costs and implement strategies to eliminate waste and improve financial accountability for cloud infrastructure. What You'll Do Build and maintain comprehensive cost allocation models to provide transparency into cloud spend across teams. Identify and execute cost-saving opportunities by uncovering architectural waste and underutilized resources. Implement and govern cloud financial policies using tools like CloudHealth, Kubecost, and AWS Cost Explorer. Collaborate with engineering and finance teams to establish accurate forecasting and budgeting processes. Monitor and report on key cloud efficiency metrics to drive data-driven decision-making for infrastructure investments. Educate development teams on FinOps best practices to foster a culture of cost-conscious engineering. What We Are Looking For 4+ years of experience in Cloud Financial Management, FinOps, or Cloud Engineering. Proven expertise in optimizing cloud spending and building cost allocation models. Proficiency with cloud cost management tools such as CloudHealth, Kubecost, or AWS Cost Explorer. Experience identifying architectural waste and implementing cloud governance policies. Strong background in analyzing cloud usage and identifying cost-saving opportunities. Advanced proficiency in English. That number is real. WorkMundi's database shows 144,883 open engineer roles across the world. India has the most with 31,687 jobs, followed by the United States with 30,084. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
