Strong hands-on experience in Java/J2EE, Spring Framework, Hibernate (ORM), and enterprise application development. Must have deep expertise in Microservices Architecture (MSA), Spring Boot, and Kubernetes deployment. Strong hands-on coding experience in Java technologies with an architecture background. Experience working with API Gateways and designing RESTful services. Good working knowledge of AWS Cloud platform and cloud-native application development. Experience with relational and NoSQL databases such as Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MongoDB. Strong experience working in Agile Scrum development environments. Hands-on experience with DevOps tools including Maven, Jenkins, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines. Good understanding of application and database design, including UML artifacts such as Class, Sequence, Collaboration, and Interaction diagrams. Ability to design Contextual, Logical, Solution, Technology, and preferably Deployment Architectures. Strong understanding of Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs) including High Availability, Security, Performance, Scalability, and Reliability. Minimum 5–6 years of experience as a hands-on Solution/Technical Architect in development projects (not presales). Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. RESPONSIBILITIES: Design and develop scalable enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices Architecture. Lead technical architecture, solution design, and implementation for large-scale development projects. Develop and deploy containerized applications using Kubernetes and cloud services on AWS. Design secure and scalable REST APIs and integrate them through API Gateway solutions. Guide development teams on coding standards, architecture best practices, code reviews, and troubleshooting complex technical issues. Create architecture artifacts including solution, logical, technology, and deployment diagrams using UML. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality, scalable, and secure software delivery. Participate in Agile ceremonies, support release planning, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure application performance, security, scalability, and high availability by addressing non-functional requirements. Mentor developers, provide technical leadership, and foster a collaborative engineering culture. Qualifications Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.

When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
