Collaborate with others to build the best solutions for customers As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will perform system analysis and troubleshooting, assess performance and capacity of our platform, and make improvement recommendations. Having identified improvements, you'll work with engineering and the SRE teams to implement new features and products. As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for: Testing inefficiencies and fragilities and write software or infrastructure fixes.You must be fluent in both software code and IaC Designing and work with Engineering or the SRE team to build automation or provide self-service tools Leveraging skills in data analysis, network diagnostics and debugging tools to characterize performance and capacity of large-scale distributed systems Designing, managing and tracking of Akamai's platform related KPIs to identify trends and changes to improve performance Investigating proactively and analyzing platform performance to identify opportunities to maintain and enhance our advantage Collaborating with internal teams to help trouble-shoot and resolve escalations and incidents for our customers Working with cross-functional teams to gather customer requirements and influence how the business deploys and operates capacity Do What You Love To be successful in this role you will: Have relevant experience and knowledge in Computer Science or another quantitative discipline Demonstrate experience in developing solutions Python, Bash, or other languages Demonstrate experience in internet protocols such as DNS, HTTP, TCP Have experience working with and analyzing complex systems in Linux, VM, and Kubernetes production environments Show excellent communication skills and articulate technical information in a clear and easy to understand manner Display excellent organization skills, managing priorities and multiple tasks Be a self-starter, proactively taking the initiative to solve problems and have a drive to improve results Work in a way that works for you FlexBase, Akamai's Global Flexible Working Program, is based on the principles that are helping us create the best workplace in the world. Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully.
