In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and enhancement of the cloud-native applications, backend services, and event-driven systems that underpin Corpay's eMoney and FX platforms. Working alongside Senior Software Engineers, Engineering Managers, Architects, Product Managers, and cross-functional engineering teams, you will build secure, scalable, and resilient software solutions that support business-critical financial services. This team focuses on delivering software that improves operational efficiency, enables business capabilities, and provides reusable technical solutions across the organisation. You'll develop applications and services that automate business processes, connect systems through event-driven architectures, and enable engineering teams to deliver scalable, reliable solutions. Develop software solutions using C# and .NET, leveraging AWS, serverless technologies, and modern software development practices. Contribute to the development of event-driven applications and distributed systems using asynchronous messaging patterns. Develop backend services, RESTful APIs, and system integrations that support business capabilities across Corpay's platforms. Build software solutions that automate business processes and improve operational efficiency. Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, Architects, and fellow engineers to understand business requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions. Contribute to the design and continuous improvement of distributed systems, considering scalability, resilience, maintainability, and security. Participate throughout the software development lifecycle, from design and implementation through testing, deployment, and production support. Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code that follows engineering standards and secure development practices. Participate actively in code reviews, incorporating feedback and contributing constructively to improve overall code quality. Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis for production issues, implementing improvements where appropriate. Work collaboratively with DevOps and Infrastructure teams to ensure applications are reliable, observable, and production-ready. Produce and maintain technical documentation, including API documentation and technical designs. Identify opportunities to improve software quality, engineering processes, and application performance. Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Qualifications & Skills Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience designing and developing backend systems and cloud-native applications. Experience developing applications using C# and modern .NET. Experience developing cloud-native applications using AWS and serverless technologies. Good understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architecture. Experience developing RESTful APIs, backend services, and system integrations. Experience developing workflow automation, business process orchestration, or event-driven business applications. Experience working with messaging technologies such as Amazon EventBridge, Amazon SQS/SNS, Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar. Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases. Experience using Infrastructure as Code with AWS CloudFormation. Working knowledge of Kubernetes and containerised application deployments. Experience implementing logging, monitoring, and observability within production applications. Understanding of secure software development principles and cloud security best practices. Ability to understand business processes and develop software solutions that improve operational efficiency. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills. Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a willingness to learn from and support other engineers. Nice to Have Experience within financial services, payments, banking, or other regulated industries. Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Clean Architecture, and modern software architecture patterns. Experience contributing to CI/CD pipelines and modern software delivery practices. Experience working with distributed caching technologies such as Redis.
