Job Summary The high-performance Product team at Supermicro is looking for a skilled System Engineer to support the development of technical collateral for in-house GPU server system products. In this role, you will have the chance to define and implement cutting-edge data center and server technologies. You will create proof of concepts and technical feature presentations that will showcase Supermicro's products at various industry events. Additionally, you will serve as the go-to expert for product managers and system engineers on system and application benchmarks relating to GPU and networking/DPU. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Includes the following essential duties and responsibilities (other duties may also be assigned): Root Cause Diagnosis: Identify and analyze the root cause of system failures, isolating specific components or failure nodes to implement effective solutions. Product Development: Provide prompt internal responses to hands-on L6, L10, L11 product development, assembly, and support. Customer On-site Support: 20% external travel opportunity for on-site customer collaboration and support. Test Automation and Review: Utilize basic scripting skills to automate validation tests, increasing efficiency in testing processes. Effectively communicating findings and insights to team members. Collaborative Product Requirements: Collaborate with Supermicro Sales teams, Field Engineers, and Product Managers to gather and refine product requirements for development. Cross-Functional Project Work: Engage with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Component Managers, Sales, and IT, on assigned projects to ensure cohesive development and implementation. Qualifications Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering is required. Experience: A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in system/server architecture development and debug. GPU experience a plus. Network and Liquid Cooling experience also a plus. Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge and understanding of computer architecture, server technologies, and data center operations, with prior experience in high-performance computing environments. Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities are essential. The candidate must be adept at creating and presenting complex technical concepts to diverse audiences, facilitating productive discussions, and receiving constructive feedback. Analytical Skills: Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong ability to interpret complex data, trends, and customer feedback to inform product decisions. Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with GPU and cloud computing technologies, and Supermicro’s product suite is preferred, along with experience using customer relationship management (CRM) tools. Salary Range $120,000 - $145,000 The salary offered will depend on several factors, including your location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation, such as participation in bonus and equity award programs.
