About The Role As we continue to scale globally, we're looking for an Engineering Talent Acquisition Lead to build and lead our engineering hiring function. This is a true player-coach role. You'll personally lead hiring for some of Verda's most critical engineering positions while leading a small team of recruiters and sourcers. Alongside delivering on key hires yourself, you'll establish the hiring strategy, processes, and standards that enable the team to scale as the business grows. Working closely with Engineering leadership, you'll shape how we attract, assess, and hire exceptional technical talent across software engineering, AI, infrastructure, networking, security, and platform teams. Your responsibilities You will lead Engineering Talent Acquisition at Verda, partnering closely with Engineering leaders to define hiring strategies and deliver exceptional talent. You will personally own recruitment for senior and business-critical engineering roles while building proactive talent pipelines through sourcing, networking, and market mapping. You will lead and develop a small team of recruiters and sourcers, setting priorities, coaching team members, and fostering a high-performance recruiting culture. You will establish scalable hiring processes, interview frameworks, sourcing strategies, and recruiting metrics that improve hiring quality, speed, and candidate experience. You will use market intelligence and hiring data to advise leaders on talent availability, compensation trends, and hiring strategy, helping Verda stay competitive in global technical talent markets. Your key competencies 8+ years of experience recruiting technical talent in a technology environment Proven success hiring senior software engineers, infrastructure engineers, AI researchers, or similarly specialized technical talent Experience leading or mentoring recruiters while remaining hands-on in recruitment delivery Strong sourcing, talent mapping, and market intelligence capabilities Experience partnering with Engineering leaders on hiring strategy and workforce planning Strong understanding of technical hiring, assessment methodologies, and candidate evaluation Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills Data-driven mindset with experience improving recruiting processes and hiring outcomes Comfortable building teams, developing people, and operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment Nice to have Experience recruiting within AI, cloud infrastructure, networking, or developer tooling Experience scaling engineering organizations internationally Experience with Teamtailor or a similar applicant tracking system (ATS) Experience using AI tools to improve sourcing and recruiting workflows Practicalities Location: Helsinki, Finland Working mode: Hybrid (3 days per week in the office) Employment type: Full-time and permanent Reporting line: Head of Talent Acquisition What's next We're building fast and this role needs the right person behind it. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
