Job Description Backend Engineer (TypeScript, Node.js & AI) – Remote (UK or EU) We're hiring a Backend Engineer to join a growing FinTech business that is using technology to modernise and simplify complex financial processes for institutional and corporate clients. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative engineering team working on scalable, high-availability systems that process significant volumes of business-critical data and transactions. You'll contribute to the design, development and evolution of a modern platform, helping to deliver reliable products while influencing technical decisions and engineering standards. The team embraces AI-assisted software development across the engineering lifecycle and is looking for someone who is comfortable working with modern AI tools and interested in exploring how they can improve productivity, quality and delivery. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully.
