The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with query optimization, indexing strategies, stored procedure tuning, and performance troubleshooting, while also possessing a solid understanding of database infrastructure health and monitoring. Key Responsibilities Database Engineering (Primary Focus) Analyze and optimize complex SQL queries for maximum performance and scalability. Design, evaluate, and maintain effective indexing strategies, including identifying and resolving missing or inefficient indexes. Tune and optimize stored procedures, functions, and database objects. Implement and maintain table partitioning strategies for large datasets. Investigate and resolve database performance bottlenecks, blocking, locking, and contention issues. Partner with application development teams to troubleshoot database-related issues and improve application performance. Evaluate how application changes impact database performance and recommend optimization strategies. Perform root cause analysis for production database performance issues and implement long-term solutions. Continuously monitor and improve overall database efficiency and reliability. Required Qualifications Strong experience in SQL query optimization and database performance tuning. Expertise in index design, missing index analysis, and execution plan analysis. Experience tuning stored procedures and optimizing database workloads. Knowledge of table partitioning strategies and large-scale database performance optimization. Strong understanding of database monitoring, contention analysis, CPU and memory utilization. Experience troubleshooting production database performance issues. Ability to collaborate closely with software engineers to resolve database-related application issues.
