Job Overview About Milestone Technologies Milestone Technologies is a global IT services and digital transformation company delivering managed services and professional solutions to many of the world's most innovative organizations. We are seeking an experienced Data Center Technician III to support one of our strategic AI infrastructure customers as they continue expanding next-generation data center operations throughout Norway. This position offers the opportunity to work within a rapidly growing AI infrastructure environment supporting advanced compute platforms, high-density deployments, and mission-critical operations. Position Summary The Data Center Technician III is an experienced, hands-on technical professional responsible for supporting the deployment, commissioning, and ongoing operation of advanced AI infrastructure within a mission-critical data center environment. Working alongside customer engineering teams, facilities personnel, vendors, and Milestone leadership, this individual performs complex installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and operational support activities across enterprise server, storage, networking, and supporting infrastructure. The Technician III also serves as a senior technical resource within the local operations team by mentoring junior technicians, supporting operational readiness, and assisting with the continuous improvement of operational processes and documentation. Employment Type Permanent Full-Time (Norway) This position is based in Gaupne, Norway, supporting long-term customer operations. Employment will be provided in accordance with the Norwegian Working Environment Act (Arbeidsmiljøloven) and applicable company policies. Professional proficiency in English is required. Norwegian language skills are considered beneficial but are not required. Key Responsibilities Infrastructure Deployment Install, rack, cable, and commission enterprise server, storage, networking, and supporting infrastructure. Perform structured copper and fiber cabling installations while maintaining high standards for labeling and cable management. Support infrastructure validation, equipment acceptance testing, operational readiness reviews, and commissioning activities. Assist with data center expansions, hardware refreshes, migrations, and infrastructure lifecycle projects. Technical Operations Install, configure, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain enterprise server, storage, and networking hardware. Diagnose and resolve Layer 1–3 infrastructure issues involving compute, networking, structured cabling, and supporting systems. Configure and troubleshoot enterprise networking equipment using CLI tools. Support AI, GPU, HPC, and high-density compute environments, including liquid-cooled infrastructure where applicable. Participate in preventive maintenance activities, hardware replacement, and break/fix support. Operational Excellence Execute operational procedures including SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs. Maintain accurate asset, inventory, and configuration records using DCIM and ITSM platforms. Participate in change management, incident response, and operational documentation. Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, documentation, and technical processes. Support continuous improvement initiatives across the data center operation. Team Collaboration Serve as a technical resource and escalation point for complex operational issues. Mentor Technician II team members through technical guidance and knowledge sharing. Collaborate closely with customer engineering, facilities personnel, vendors, and cross-functional operations teams. Promote a culture focused on safety, teamwork, operational excellence, and customer service. Required Qualifications Language Professional proficiency in English (written and verbal) Norwegian language skills (written and verbal) Technical Skills Strong hands-on experience supporting enterprise server, storage, networking, and structured cabling infrastructure. Experience supporting mission-critical production environments. Strong understanding of enterprise hardware installation and break/fix activities. Experience configuring and troubleshooting enterprise networking platforms using CLI tools. Working knowledge of Linux operating systems and command-line administration. Understanding of Layer 2/3 networking fundamentals including VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and routing concepts. Experience with DCIM, ITSM, and asset management platforms such as ServiceNow, Jira, NetBox, Sunbird, or equivalent. Ability to interpret rack elevations, floor plans, network diagrams, and technical documentation. Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills. Required Experience Minimum 4–6 years of experience in one or more of the following: Data Center Operations Infrastructure Engineering Telecommunications Infrastructure Critical Facilities Industrial Automation Manufacturing Operations Utilities or Power Generation Defense Infrastructure Maritime Engineering Mission-Critical Operations Candidates Should Also Possess Experience In Enterprise hardware installation and lifecycle management. Rack and stack activities and structured cabling. Large-scale infrastructure deployments, commissioning, or migration projects. Linux administration and enterprise networking. Ticketing, incident management, and operational change processes. Supporting production environments requiring high availability and operational discipline.
