Description The Appstore technology teams connect millions of customers to apps and content they love. We enable this on varied set of devices like Fire TV and Fire Tablets devices. We are looking for a Software Development Engineer to be part of the development of scalable software solutions and services for handling the Developer Monetization experience. Ideal candidate should be willing to work in designing scalable and low-latency systems, working across technologies. Joining our team will give you endless opportunities to use your passion, ingenuity, experience, and pragmatism to build a world-class Appstore experience. Our ideal candidate will have a deep well-rounded technical background in current software disciplines, mastery of software fundamentals, and be willing to effectively challenge technical system designs and drive engineering decisions to drive the right developer and customer experience, and an eagerness to learn new and evolving technologies. To be successful you'll need to have experience with Java or any other modern language, experience of Service Architectures, experience working with databases, experience handling scale. You need a strong grasp of architecture and advanced engineering principles and design patterns. You must be a fast, efficient coder and make coding and design decision with multiple simultaneous dimensions in mind. You will be part of technical leadership team of Amazon Appstore development center in Chennai, India and will have the chance to lead the product architecture and team-building effort. Key job responsibilities You will be responsible for the architecture, design, and delivery of critical distributed systems, influencing the team on the right technical direction, making key technology decision, coaching and developing engineers, and improving the overall maintainability of these systems. You will need to drive innovations and think big to bring in step function changes from the current status quo. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully.
