Visit our Institutional Page As a Systems Engineer, You’re Expected To As a key lead within the Computing Squad, you will be in contact with critical pieces of foundational infrastructure where the majority of Nubank's workloads run, including Kubernetes, AWS, Network, and Service Communications. You will contribute to our Computing product strategy, find opportunities to improve our infrastructure, and set a high technical standard for the team. Main Responsibilities Proactively identify and pursue opportunities to improve our infrastructure in areas like performance, costs, and governance. Act as a key technical lead in the team, guiding and mentoring more junior engineers to create and maintain a high-quality technical environment. Represent the team in different technical forums, being able to document, negotiate, and convince different stakeholders across various levels and chapters. Anticipate technical and product issues, making appropriate design decisions to avoid them. Deep dive into problems to identify root causes and deliver innovative solutions that address team-level challenges with a focus on medium and long-term impact. Understand the technical aspects, capabilities, and limitations of our systems, contributing to discussions and improvements. Contribute to our Computing product strategy, working closely with peers and Product Managers. What are we looking for? Experience and knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS). Strong understanding and hands-on experience with Kubernetes and AWS EKS. Experience with access management (AWS IAM, Role management). Experience with scaling tools like Karpenter, KEDA, and HPA. Experience with the Golang programming language. A passion for sharing knowledge and mentoring other engineers. Creativity and analytical thinking to find opportunities to improve our Computing Platform. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
