Data Warehouse ETL Developer Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Data Warehouse / ETL Developer with expertise in Informatica PowerCenter to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level ETL solutions. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in data warehousing concepts, ETL processes, and strong problem-solving skills to ensure high-quality, timely, and accurate data integration. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and deploy ETL mappings, workflows, and sessions using Informatica PowerCenter. Extract data from heterogeneous source systems (Oracle, SQL Server, flat files, SAP) and load into target data warehouse environments. Collaborate with business analysts and data architects to understand data requirements and translate them into efficient ETL solutions. Optimize ETL processes for performance, scalability, and maintainability. Conduct data validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting to ensure data quality and integrity. Maintain ETL documentation, including data flow diagrams, technical specifications, and process design documents. Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and UAT support. Monitor ETL jobs and workflows, identify bottlenecks, and implement improvements. Provide production support and resolve data-related issues in a timely manner. Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. 10 years of experience in ETL development using Informatica PowerCenter. Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and star/snowflake schemas. Experience with SQL, PL/SQL, and performance tuning of database queries. Knowledge of data quality, data governance, and best practices in ETL development. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Experience with version control systems and ETL deployment processes. Preferred Qualifications: Exposure to real-time ETL and data streaming technologies. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
