The Opportunity As a Project Manager / PMO within EY’s Digital Engineering team, you will be responsible for driving the successful execution of software engineering projects that support clients' digital transformation goals. You will oversee project planning, delivery, governance, and coordination across cross-functional software engineering teams. Your role will be crucial in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives. Key Responsibilities Manage end-to-end project delivery for software engineering initiatives, from initiation through deployment Work closely with engineering leads, product owners, and stakeholders to define project scope, timelines, and deliverables Establish governance, reporting, and risk management practices for ongoing software development projects Ensure alignment with agile practices by facilitating sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives Monitor progress against project milestones and budgets, ensuring transparent communication with stakeholders Coordinate cross-functional teams (frontend, backend, QA, DevOps) to ensure smooth collaboration and execution Drive continuous improvement of delivery processes, including automation, documentation, and quality assurance Support resource planning, capacity tracking, and talent utilization across the engineering delivery portfolio Technology Environment (You’ll work alongside engineering teams using) Frontend: React, Angular, Next.js, TypeScript Backend: .NET Core/8+, Node.js, Java Mobile: React Native, Flutter, MAUI Cloud: Azure, AWS, GCP DevSecOps & Tools: Jira, Confluence, Git, CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Selenium, Playwright, JMeter To Qualify, You Must Have Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field 5+ years of experience in project or delivery management, ideally in a software engineering or technology consulting environment Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile delivery methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) Proven track record of managing software engineering or digital platform projects across cloud-native or enterprise environments Familiarity with software engineering concepts and technical workflows Excellent stakeholder management, team coordination, and communication skills PMP, PRINCE2, or Scrum Master certification is a plus What We Look For A delivery-focused project leader who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys working with technical teams, and has a strong ability to drive clarity and execution in complex software projects. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
