All about the role: We are looking for a Lead Frontend Engineer to guide and grow our frontend development team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for both technical leadership and people management, driving the long-term direction of our web platforms. You’ll play a key role in shaping our frontend architecture, owning the design system, and ensuring high-quality delivery across the team. A Typical Day Lead the team: Manage and mentor a group of frontend engineers, supporting their growth, performance, and well-being. Own the design system: Define, evolve, and maintain our design system to ensure consistency, scalability, and accessibility across products. Set technical direction: Guide architectural decisions, advocate for best practices, and lead key technical initiatives. Drive collaboration: Act as the primary interface between the frontend team and product, design, and backend teams. Uphold quality: Promote clean, maintainable code through code reviews, pairing, and process improvements. Foster a culture of learning: Encourage innovation, experimentation, and knowledge sharing within the team. Who You Are? 10+ years of frontend development experience. 2+ years of technical leadership or engineering management experience. Expert-level proficiency in Next.js, React, TypeScript, and modern frontend tooling. Strong experience of state management frameworks. Deep understanding of frontend performance optimization including Core Web Vitals, bundle optimization, and server-side rendering strategies Experience working with Headless CMS platforms (preferably Optimizely CMS or Sanity CMS), including data modeling and integration. Experience building responsive, accessible and cross browser compatible web applications Experience with developing reusable component libraries or design systems is a strong plus. Experience with .NET C# is a plus. A collaborative approach with excellent communication skills in English and attention to detail. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully. Then check which countries have the volume you're targeting. Singapore, Poland, and Australia round out the top five after India and the US.
Next, learn who's hiring. Accenture has posted 2,801 engineer roles. andurilindustries, speechify, and jobgether are also actively recruiting. If you're applying to one of these names, research their hiring patterns and interview style before you apply. That homework pays off.
When you interview, expect the question every engineer hears: 'Tell me about a time you had to debug a problem that wasn't in your job description.' Have a specific story ready—not a general one. Name the tools, the deadline pressure, and what you learned. Hiring managers listen for whether you see problem-solving as part of the role itself, not a favour.
