Position: Scala Developer Location: Lisbon - hybrid Can relocate from anywhere globally. Signify Technology are working with a long-standing, trusted clients of ours who are looking to expand their engineering team in Lisbon, Portugal, who operate in the finance and insurance company. Your Responsibilities Contribute to a robust microservices architecture in Scala, utilizing technologies such as SBT, Quill, ScalaPB, Http4s, Scalatest, Oracle DB, Postgres, Flyway, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Protobuf, Scalaxb, git, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, and Elastic Search. Maintain and enhance the Scala 2.13 codebase, incorporating tools like sbt, quill, scalapb, flyway, and protobuf. Develop new microservices to automate and optimize business processes. Collaborate closely with business analysts and stakeholders to gather requirements and design innovative features. Review performance metrics and ensure scalability of existing processes and services. Your Qualifications Proficient in Scala with an understanding of its intricacies. Fluent in English with excellent communication skills. Eagerness to learn about business processes and a proactive attitude towards continuous improvement. Nice-to-Haves Familiarity with RabbitMQ, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, and Jenkins. Professional experience in the financial industry. Experience in migrating services from Scala 2 to Scala 3.
