Position Description: PingWind is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior Systems Engineer to be responsible for the design, implementation, integration, and maintenance of complex IT systems to support organizational objectives. This role requires advanced technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to lead projects and mentor junior engineers. The Senior Systems Engineer ensures system reliability, scalability, security, and performance while aligning with business and mission requirements. Primary Responsibilities: Typical Responsibilities/Tasks: • Develop, design, and implement enterprise-level systems, networks, and infrastructure solutions. • Evaluate system requirements and translate them into technical solutions. • Ensure scalability, security, and performance of system designs. • Install, configure, and integrate operating systems, applications, and system tools. • Coordinate system upgrades, migrations, and deployments with minimal downtime. • Automate processes and workflows to improve efficiency and reduce risk. • Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity. • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across environments. • Ensure systems comply with security standards, policies, and best practices. • Work with cross-functional teams including software engineers, network engineers, cybersecurity, and project managers. • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to junior engineers and staff. • Lead system-related projects from requirements gathering to delivery. • Create and maintain system documentation, diagrams, and runbooks. • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, cybersecurity standards, and organizational policies. • Participate in audits, risk assessments, and disaster recovery planning. If you just finished reading one job ad and felt paralyzed by choice, you're not alone—but this scale is actually an advantage. It means you can afford to be selective.
Start by geography and language. The majority of engineer ads—117,837 of them—have the job posting text written in English. Use that as one filter, but remember: the ad text language tells you nothing about whether the role actually requires you to speak English day-to-day. Read the job description carefully.
